Cafe

Cafe

balanced on red cushioned barstool

facing homemade tomato soup

hiding behind the lacquered wooden bar

notebook, a glass of water and writer’s block

spoon is full of hope

at the boulevard cafe

warped and faded brown leather guitar case

bearing a history of stickers

bands no one has heard of

adjusting the microphone

on the four-foot circular makeshift stage

digging out father’s guitar

at the boulevard cafe
